Warren Brown helped transport a a a a a a a a a a a a green sea turtle turtle named Tsunami from the the the Georgia Sea Turtle Center to the the the the the St Louis Aquarium in in in in June 2020 here being loaded by volunteers A A boat strike left the the the the the small turtle turtle with head jaw and and and and flipper injuries and and and and he he he he he he he he has been rehabilitating the the the the past three years years at at at at the the the the Georgia Sea Turtle Center He is is estimated to to be be be between 15 and and and and 20 years years old and and and and weighs about about 66 pounds pounds he he he he he could grow to to about 500 pounds in his new permanent home 4 • KING AIR MAGAZINE
DECEMBER 2020 Turtles Fly Too helps more than just rescued turtles Pilot Dave Sutton volun- teered his his Piper Turbo Saratoga and his his time to to to assist the effort to to to rescue a a a a a a a a a a a young Guadalupe fur seal – a a a a a a a a a a a threatened spe- cies – that had washed up up on on an an Oregon beach dehydrated and lethargic Five separate organizations were involved in in this rescue with oversight by NOAA Fish- eries West Coast office Sutton flew the seal pup to to to Petaluma Municipal Airport which was then transferred to to to The Marine Mammal Center in in Sausalito California Experts say these seals listed as a a a a a a a a threatened species are traveling farther north than usual following prey shifts due to warming waters along the West Coast and and and an an an an alarming number wind up dead or sick malnourished and and and stranded
