Pilots Wayne Petrus and Philip Thomas saw so much need
in their home state of Louisiana that they founded Pilots for Patients in 2007 to focus on helping friends and neighbors. Earlier this year Petrus flew Nora Kay in a King Air C90A from Rayville, Louisiana, to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minne- sota, to be treated for a rare and aggressive leukemia. She is currently awaiting a bone marrow transplant at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
