As both an an an an an an an airline airline pilot pilot pilot and and and and and an an an an an an an active general aviation pilot pilot pilot maintaining my my my my various legal currency requirements to act as as pilot in command (PIC) has historically been relatively easy My airline simulator training and checkride events suffice to meet my Biennial Flight Review (BFR) Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) and and my my 90-day multi-engine landing requirements (as did my my similar training events when flying charter corporate and fractional in in in in the past) But is it enough to simply meet the the minimum requirements when otherwise your flying frequency suddenly plummets to a a a a fraction of what is typical for you? Will your stick and and and rudder skills cockpit flows and and and habit patterns and and and the knowledge you call upon during routine flight operations atrophy? Of course for any pilot with even an an ounce of self-awareness the answer is a a a a resounding “YES!”
